Synopsis

Disc 1. College: The high school that Ronald attends praises books and condemns sports. His girlfriend, Mary, condemns their attitude. Because he fears of losing her to Jeff, he decides to attend the high school and pay more attention to sports.
Disc 2. The Saphead: Keaton stars in "The Saphead" as Bertie Van Alstyne, the spoiled son of a powerful Wall Street financier. Unable to escape the wealth and comfort that are foisted upon him, he pursues individuality in a series of comic misadventures in the speakeasies of New York, the altar of matrimony and even the floor of the American Stock Exchange.
Disc 3. Our Hospitality: The wonderful film Our Hospitality is in many ways a companion piece to Keatons 1926 masterpiece The General. It stars Buster as a New York man who returns to his Southern homeland only to find himself embroiled in a longstanding feud between his family and that of the woman he loves.
Disc 4. Battling Butler: The greatest box office success of all his independent comedies, "Battling Butler" is a rarely seen gem that mingles Buster Keatons deadpan demeanor and awesome physical agility with a particularly dramatic storyline. Keaton stars as Alfred Butler, a fragile young man whose father sends him to the country where he hopes masculinity will blossom. Ironically, he is mistaken for "Battling" Butler, a renowned prizefighter. Alfred continues the ruse until the charade is complicated by the untimely arrival of the true contender (Francis McDonald).
Disc 5. The General: The plot centres around the youthful Jonny Gray (Buster Keaton), a brave Southern engineer on the Western & Atlantic Rail Road runing through Georgia. The Civil War erupts and Johnny tries to enlist but is told that he is more valuable as an engineer. When his train, containing his girlfriend Annabelle Lee (Marion Mack), is stolen by Union spies, Johnny takes another locomotive and the most memorable chase in silent film history ensues.
Of special interest is the amazing fact that Keaton performed the dangerous and hari-raising stunts himself, numerous times, on real moving trains! One of Keatons best silent features, it is a tremendous action comedy with a host of visual gags. Keaton edited, co-directed (with Clyde Bruckman) and co-wrote the screenplay (with Al Boasberg and Charles Smith) based on the story "The Great Locomotive Chase" by William Pittenger. The same tale was to be produced in a more serious vein by Walt Disney in 1956.
Disc 6. Three Ages: A brilliant historical satire teeming with inventive flourishes, Buster Keatons "Three Ages" is a silent comedy of truly epic proportions. This clever parody of D. W. Griffiths "Intolerance" follows Busters hard-luck romantic misadventures throughout world history: from the dawn of man in the Stone Age through the gladiator arenas of Ancient Rome to the city streets of the American Jazz Era.
Disc 7. Steamboat Bill, Jr.: Flavored with Americana and loaded with cinematic inventiveness, "Steamboat Bill, Jr." was Buster Keatons final independent production, a comic masterpiece. Set on the Mississippi River, "Steamboat Bill, Jr." follows the adventures of a spoiled young man who is forced by his crusty father (Ernest Torrence) to learn riverboating. Highlighted by remarkable special effects, the film includes the legendary stunt in which the front of a building collapses over Junior, who passes unharmed through an open window.
Disc 8. The Navigator: Brilliantly exemplifying Buster Keatons ability to mine rich humor from the inanimate, "The Navigator" is a classic of the Golden Age of Comedy. Keaton stars as Rollo Treadway, an inexperienced lad of extraordinary wealth, but little common sense. He finds himself adrift on "The Navigator", a 500-foot yacht, with no one but an equally naive girl (Kathryn McGuire). Together they face the misadventures that befall them on the high seas, from cannibals to unfamiliar domesticity.
Disc 9. Seven Chances: Love has never been funnier or more difficult to manage than in the immortal Buster Keaton comedies brought together on this DVD. Opening with a newly restored Technicolor sequence, "Seven Chances" is a film often imitated but never rivaled for hilarity and visual virtuosity. Keaton stars as Jimmie Shannon, a romantically jinxed young man who must marry by 7:00 pm to inherit seven million dollars.
Disc 10. Go West: A fascinating alternative to the manic stunt work and elaborate sight gags that distinguish the films of Buster Keaton, Go West offers a rare and satisfying glimpse of his talent for more expressive comedy: charming moments of intimate humor flavored with rich pathos.
Heeding the expansionist call of Horace Greeley, a hopeless young man (aptly named "Friendless") idealistically hops a freight train westward to meet his destiny, first in a teeming metropolis (where he is roundly trampled by rush-hour foot traffic) then into the ranchlands of Arizona. In the side-splitting course of his attempts at bronco-busting, cattle wrangling and even dairy farming, Friendless finds himself enamored with Brown Eyes, a particularly affectionate bovine beauty from whose hoof he removed a painful pebble. Setting traditional ideas of romance and masculinity on their ears, Go West is uniquely graceful and characteristically hilarious -especially in the films dynamic finale. In an epic sequence that i
