Synopsis
Disc 1. The Stranger: Orson Welles directed and stars in this tightly woven drama of wanted Nazi war criminal, Franz Kindler, tracked down in a sleepy New England village where he is about to marry the daughter of a U. S. Supreme Court Justice. Welles as the Nazi, Loretta Young as the unsuspecting bride and Edward G. Robinson as the famous Nazi hunter.
Disc 2. The Trial: A terrifying psychological thriller based on the classic novel by Franz Kafka. Joseph K. is an ordinary man whos not only accused of a crime he didnt commit, but is never made aware of the crime itself. After his initial arrest, Joseph K. is released, but must report to court on a regular basis. This process becomes maddening, as nothing is ever resolved, and Joseph K. becomes more and more uncertain of his fate.
Disc 3. The Third Man: Orson Welles stars as Harry Lime and Joseph Cotten plays his childhood friend, Holly Martins, in this all-time classic thriller scripted by Graham Greene and directed by Carol Reed. Martins searches for Lime through the seedy underworld of post-war Vienna and gets caught up in a web of love, deception, racketeering and murder.
