Synopsis
Marnie Edgar is a woman with a severe emotional problem that drives her to use her stunning looks to gain the hearts and confidence of her employers. Once ensconced in their good graces, she proceeds to rob them, and then leaves - changing her identity in the process. Her only stable relationship is the one she shares with her horse - and to a far lesser degree, with her mother. Marnie begins to work for Mark Rutlands Philadelphia publishing company. However, Mark recognizes her as the thief she is, but instead of turning her in, he falls in love with her. Mark enters into her bizarre psychological world and both are nearly destroyed by the inner forces that are driving them.
