The patriarch Jacob loves young Joseph more than any of his other sons. Joseph’s special status shown in such tokens as the multi colored coat arouses the hatred of his brothers, who sell him into captivity. Joseph, now a slave in Egypt, resists the attempts of his master’s wife to seduce him.
When he correctly interprets the Pharaoh’s dreams, he is appointed chancellor of the realm and saves Egypt from famine. Joseph, now a wealthy and respected man, meets his brothers and his father again. He reconciles with his brothers, and the Pharaoh invites them to settle in Egypt as overseers of his livestock..
