Synopsis

Proud, stretched and inflexible, the lieutenant colonel Owen Thursday is sent to the hidden Fort Apache. He arrives with his daughter, the young Philadelphia, who is quickly attracted towards the good-looking lieutenant Michael ORourke. Thursdays West Point rigidity crashes immediately with the life of officials and soldiers at Fort Apache. His opposition to the relation between his daughter and Michael creates a special tension at the fort. His intransigence in the negotiations of peace with the Apaches commanded by Cochise, that had abandoned their reserve displeased by the poor treatment that the government offers them, will push his men to a so unnecessary as bloody battle.
