Between Christmas and New Year’s Day in 1999 three very different people reflect on the meaning of their lives. The three have something in common; that year they went on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage following the Jacobean route and their steps have led them to ask the same fundamental questions. Fourteen weeks of filming in five countries (Spain, France, Holland, Brazil and Japan), during three seasons of the year (winter, spring and summer) have been necessary to recreate the stories of these three people, the Japanese poetess Madoka Mayuzimi, the Brazilian Milena Salgado and the Dutchman Rob Jorritsma in this fictitious account..
